With regard to the upcoming Blankets & Wine event on September 2nd in Nairobi, we would like to inform you that award winning American singer Dwele will not be joining us as earlier announced. At least not for now.
This is due to an unforeseen clash in the dates for his tour schedule which will require him to perform at another event in the US on September 1st. Naturally he would be unable to make it in time to perform at Blankets & Wine on the following day due to the massive time difference between Kenya & the US. We sincerely apologize for this last minute change and hope you understand the circumstances that have prompted it.
We are truly saddened by this turn of events but in appreciation for your courtesy and understanding, we have resolved to host Dwele later in the year (tentatively set for November) after he is done with the tour and his schedule is less crowded.
We however promise a pleasant treat at the September edition of Blankets & Wine where we have a great lineup in store. One of the artists gracing our stage shall be Zimbabwean native and singing sensation, Edith WeUtonga. Edith has gradually risen to become one of the most celebrated artists in her country where she is touted as the musical heir to global icon and her fellow countryman, Oliver Mtukudzi. In addition, Edith’s desire to showcase her craft to the audience at Blankets & Wine has seen her run a successful fundraising campaign to foot the bill for her entire band’s air tickets from Zimbabwe to Kenya through contributions from her friends and fans. We at Blankets & Wine will in turn be hosting her and her band while in Kenya as well as facilitating her every need.
Join us on September 2nd at the Leisure Gardens, Mamba Village Nairobi, for another special occasion of East Africa’s premier music event.
Regards,
Blankets & Wine
