When does the event take place?
Blankets & Wine takes place every 1st Sunday of the Month in Nairobi. There are however some exceptions when the event date shifts in which case we make a point of communicating this in good time. For events outside of Nairobi, the date shifts from one event to another.
What time is the event?
The audience tends to stream in from about 1 pm. The first act gets on stage at 2 pm, and the event wraps up by 7 pm.
How much do tickets cost?
- Advance tickets can be bought via Ticketsasa (https://www.facebook.com/events/414124075320232/)1,300 ksh
- Advance tickets at all DORMANS outlet a week prior: Ksh 1,300
- Gate price for adults are 1,500 Ksh & Ksh 500 per child
- Door charges: Adults: Ksh 1,500. Children between 5-12 years: Ksh 500
How do I use this Ticketsasa you speak of?
It’s really easy. There are 4 steps.
- Get onto www.tickets.pesapal.com
- Place an order for the tickets.
- Make payment.
- Login to www.ticketsasa.com. Print and bring your ticket to the event.
First-time Users
If it is the first time using ticketsasa.com, you will receive an email with a username and password when you place an order for a ticket. Use this to login to your ticketsasa.com account to print tickets.
Ticketsasa.com uses PesaPal to process payments, if you are buying tickets for the first time, you will receive a separate email, from PesaPal, with a username and password. You can use these details to log in to www.pesapal.com to view a history of your online transactions made using PesaPal.
Make sure you copy and paste the generated password as typing usually causes errors due to the nature of the password generated.
I’ve never been to the event, how does it work? What should I bring to the festival?
We get asked this a lot, and outside of a picnic and company of your choice there really is no right answer; only a deep sense of wanting to be silly and say something like, stuffed animals and skittles. I will tell you that there are usually 4 performances with brief DJ interludes, lots of singing along and gleeful dance.

Is there an official after party?
As a matter of fact there is! A fabulous one at that! This year our official After party is at Club Volar (formerly Steves Steakhouse), Ngong Racecourse.

How do you select bands to play?
We listen to their uploads, if we are sufficiently impressed we track them down. To ensure we deliver quality performers, the Blankets & Wine team watches all acts perform to ensure they can deliver on the Blankets & Wine stage.
I have a band, they’re brilliant, how do they get to play?
Get in touch with us here or simply send us an email with a link to their website/myspace/soundcloud/reverbnation page so that we can listen to their music. Let us know where else the band has played live, and send a link to a recording of a performance. If you do not have a link to a recording, write to us and let us know where the band plays often/ invite us to a rehearsal session.
