Keeping in line with the concept of using readily available local ingredients, this is our take on chapatti and chicken all rolled up into one delicious wrap. The Kula Kraft special slaw includes different types of lettuce plus a selection of different fresh herbs which are not only healthy but organic and packed with flavor. The signature homemade spread consisting of a mayonnaise base plus other ingredients including soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce simply completes this finger-licking dish.
Ingredients
Chicken strips
Onions – sliced
Kula craft special slaw
Butternut chapattis
Chapatti wrap spread
Salt and pepper
Oil
Method
1. In a hot pan, add the oil. Once pan is hot and oil has begun to smoke, season your chicken strips and add into the oil.
2. Brown evenly before tossing in the onions. Reduce the heat and cook until the chicken is done, approximately 3 minutes.
3. Warm the chapatti and apply the spread evenly over it. Place the cooked chicken on one side, then the slaw, and roll up using grease proof paper to keep everything together.
4. Serve immediately.
Kula Craft was founded in April 2016. A longtime dream of two Chefs, Andrew ” Dutch” Wainaina and Benjamin Nyaga of the Royco Fuata Flava show. Both chefs are lifelong friends (and really funny too as we discovered during J.Mwai x Kula Kraft). The chefs have worked together in Fairmont the Norfolk Hotel before they left the industry to follow their dream of owning their own food truck.
