Musical trio Elani was formed in 2008 by friends Maureen Kunga, Wambui Ngugi and Bryan Chweya who met while studying and connected over a love for music and performing. They went on to release their debut album Barua ya Dunia in 2014 to great acclaim for their catchy Afropop ballads like the ever-popular Kookoo and Hapo Zamani to name a few.

About their lyrical subject matter and musical vibe, the band call themselves ‘Love Ambassadors’ of sorts.

The group are back on our airwaves in anticipation of the release of their second studio album, Colours of Love. Catch one of the continent’s most gifted and beloved bands at this year’s 10^th Anniversary Blankets & Wine festival!
