For Meka being on stage is all about energy and release.

“My job is to ensure you feel lifted by the music,” 

 “I like to create freedom and good energy.”

One of the prevailing features about her performances is her vocal range. She recently put up on her Soundcloud account ‘Take Your Time’, where she effortlessly rises and dips between high and low notes.

Her take on ‘Lean on’, originally by Major Lazer and DJ Snake, is sublime. She takes full possession of it, slowing down its rhythm to stretch her vocals and add harmony, to heighten the sentimentality of the lyrics.

Although she has just started out, Meka has made the stage her home.

“I love watching the release that happens when you’re on stage,

giving yourself to people, watching how they receive your music and

enjoy it all in different ways.”

Most recently, she took part of Goethe Institut’s Women in Music Concert Series. Last year as one of the backup vocalists in Coke Studio, Meka had the opportunity of working with American RnB artist Ne-Yo and Nigeria’s Yemi Alade, something she considers as among her biggest achievements. Meka is definitely an artist to look out for.
