Who We Are

Blankets & Wine was started in 2008 as a platform for the promotion, celebration and exposure of emerging live Kenyan music. The monthly event series progressively evolved from a platform showcasing contemporary live Kenyan music into an Africa-wide, multi-disciplinary platform. 

Under the banner of Blankets and Wine, the East African region has enjoyed live performances by top cast including Oliver Mtukudzi (Zimbabwe), Mafikizolo (South Africa), Mzungu Kichaa (Tanzania), Maurice Kirya (Uganda), Micasa (South Africa) as well as celebrated Kenyan acts such as Sauti Sol, Eric Wainaina, Harry Kimani, Nyota Ndogo among others.

Blankets & Wine has become a successful franchise, with one offshoot already running in Kampala (Uganda) and two others in Rwanda and Malawi set to kick off in 2016. 

The April 2016 edition marks the beginning of a high-quality quarterly showcase through Blankets & Wine’s new operating entity, GoodTimes Africa; a pan-African platform for staging the most exciting live events across the region. GoodTimes is backed by a global group of investors and is growing quickly through a series of concerts and events around music, through the brands: Blankets & Wine, Africa Dance Party, Africa Nouveau and Live in Concert.
